Papua New Guinea's cycling Mecca is New Ireland's Boluminski
Highway. Tar-sealed and relatively flat, the highway follows the scenic
coastline between Kavieng
and Namatanai. Bicycles are available for hire in Kavieng.
The Gazelle Peninsula
district in East New Britain is also suitable for cycling as the roads
are in reasonably good condition and mostly tar-sealed. Moreover, New
Ireland and East New Britain are safe destinations where cyclists can
travel without being harrassed.
